2003 Session Laws
The Session Laws of North Dakota are published after each regular legislative session and contain the laws enacted during that session. Five data bases provide information under the session laws system. These data bases are derived from the printed version of the Session Laws.
| Chapter Categories | The Session Laws are arranged by subject matter category. Categories generally follow the title arrangement of the North Dakota Century Code, which is the codification of all general and permanent law enacted since statehood. |
| Index to Bills and Resolutions | The index to bills and resolutions is a tabular listing of bills and resolutions, in ascending numerical order, with a cross-reference to the session laws chapter number of the bill or resolution. If you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0, the session laws chapter number is a link to the first chapter of the subject matter category in which that chapter is contained. If you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0, the session laws chapter number is a link to that chapter. The right-hand frame contains the text of the chapters in that category. The entire category will load as one document. You can scroll through the chapters or use the table of contents (left-hand frame) to select the chapter you want to view. Adobe Acrobat Reader's find feature (the "binocular" button on Acrobat's taskbar) allows you to search a document for key words. Because a chapter category is loaded as one document, you are able to search the text of all chapters compiled under that category. |
| NDCC Sections Affected | The NDCC sections affected list is a tabular listing, in ascending North Dakota Century Code number, of all Century Code provisions amended, created, or repealed, with a cross-reference to the session laws chapter number of the bill affecting that provision. |
| NDCC Sections Affected by Bill | The NDCC sections affected by bill is a tabular listing, in ascending bill number order, of all Century Code provisions amended, created, or repealed, with a cross-reference to the session laws chapter number of the bill affecting that provision. |
| General Index | The general index is an index, by subject matter, of all chapters of the session laws. Note that the session laws contains matter in addition to bills and resolutions enacted or approved by the Legislative Assembly. Chapter numbers also are assigned to veto messages, initiated measures, referred measures, and constitutional measures. |
