ADMINISTRATIVE RULEMAKING STATISTICS

After the September 1998 meeting, the Administrative Rules Committee will have reviewed 2,789 administrative rules sections that were changed in some way from November 1996 through October 1998.

Although administrative rules differ in length and complexity and the choice of whether to create one lengthy rule or several shorter rules is discretionary, comparison of the number of administrative rules sections affected during biennial periods is the best available method of comparing the volume of administrative rules affected by action of administrative agencies during various time periods. The following table shows the number of North Dakota Administrative Code sections amended, repealed, created, superseded, reserved, or redesignated during each designated time period:
