A concurrent resolution for the amendment of section 2 of article V, subsection 2 of section 6

of article VIII, and section 3 of article IX of the Constitution of North Dakota, relating to
|
|
the elimination of the superintendent of public instruction and the tax commissioner as
|
|
constitutionally elected officials, the nomination of candidates for the state board of higher
|
|
education, and the composition of the board of university and school lands; to provide for
|
|
application; and to provide an effective date.

STATEMENT OF INTENT
|
|
This amendment removes the superintendent of public instruction and the tax commissioner as
|
|
constitutionally elected officials, removes the nomination procedure for selection of members
|
|
of the state board of higher education, and designates the state auditor as a member of the
|
|
board of university and school lands. This amendment becomes effective January 1, 2000.
